Ethiopian Biodiversity Institute has an objective to ensure the appropriate Conservation and Utilization of the Country’s Biodiversity. A Plant Genetic Resources Center that was initially established in 1976 to rescue the country’s plant genetic resources from adverse impacts of various human activities and natural calamities and thereby, support crop improvement programs.
